Workshops

Renegade Research Club helps curious people identify and access resources to support their projects and practices. All workshops use participatory and responsive teaching techniques to address concerns, issues, or skills participants need or want to learn. In this way, these workshops can offer skill-based learning, but remain adaptive. Each workshop is based on the participants interests and the topics they choose to engage with. Right now, we offer workshops in-person and online.

Writers as Renegade Researchers

In this workshop we will look at research as a means for discovery and inspiration. This workshop will help people who are just beginning a project or people who are feeling a little stuck and are looking for new ways to approach their idea. We will work together to form foundational questions to guide your exploration. We will also address the basics around searching for and finding information. Together we will go beyond what can be found on Google or Wikipedia. We will refine your questions through discussion and peer support.

Continuing the Conversation

Research for Creative Practices Series

This workshop offers an opportunity to find support, accountability, and feedback on the project you are working on. Participants can present their work-in-progress and discuss their topics or ideas with each other. This workshop will be most helpful to people who have a solid foundation for their projects and are preparing to move their project into its final phase, be that a grant proposal, publication, installation, etc. (Image: Untitled, 1969, by Tom Tomc)
